Hypogeum

Hypogeum is a lesson in unexpected sonic rapport. I’d attended Electro-Music NY for the first time in 2013, just to watch and join in on the jam sessions and otherwise network with my fellow electronic/electro-acoustic musicians, and as a result of that networking, I was invited by Adam Holquist [aka Onewayness] to join his group of minimalist improvisers in the 2014 session. So Adam, John Morley [aka Luxseeker], Aaron Todd [aka Genetique], and yours truly took the stage and…well, oh my

It was one of those gigs in which, midway through the set, you find all the fine hairs on your neck standing on end as things just…come together in a way that’s so rare and perfect that you can hardly believe you are a part of what’s happening. It was a landmark experience for me, and I’ve been delighted to revisit the stage with these amazing musicians in 2015, 2016, and if all goes to plan, again in 2017. It’s fantastic headphone music for those moments when you just want to settle into a comfy chair, close your eyes, and travel with us.
